Street Dance...

Informal, improvisational, young and exciting, Street Dancing is an umbrella term that covers dance styles that have evolved outside formal dance studios, mostly since the 1970s.

Interactive and engaging, with dances often presented by one individual for the delight of spectating peers, Street Dance demands co-ordination, imagination, energy and delight in movement.

The kind of dance forms include Hip-Hop, Breakdancing, House Dancing and Funk Dance, although there are many more. At Dance Connection, we explore these and outline basic and more advanced moves, as well as encouraging freestyle interpetation.

Street dancing is fun for adults as well as teens, putting them in touch with the vernacular and all but eliminating the formal structures of Ballroom and Latin. For those who want to express themselves socially in the most individual way, this energetic art form is a big wow.
